As the 2018 harvest gets underway, many farmers may notice areas of soil erosion in their fields. Gully erosion from heavy rainfall events throughout the spring and summer can be easier to see after the crop is harvested. The West Otter Tail Soil and Water Conservation District would like to offer their technical and financial assistance to anyone that is willing to work towards controlling future erosion problems. The West Otter Tail SWCD can offer technical expertise on what programs and practices could benefit each specific site, along with financial assistance to install and maintain erosion control practices. As you harvest your crops this fall we encourage you to document areas of concern and contact our office, so we can assist you in controlling erosion on your farm. You can contact the West Otter Tail SWCD by calling our office at (218)-998-5300 or stop by our office at 506 Western Avenue in Fergus Falls.
